The Mercer Technologies designed lidding machines are designed for medium to large plants with the need for both reliability and speed. The lidding machines are designed to lid hot boned and chilled boned product in to cartons. The unique closing system squares the carton, compresses the lid squarely over the product, and then compresses the glued flaps of the lid on to the carton while holding the carton square. This system is on all of our lidding machines, found to be the most reliable lidding system through out the meat industry. Mercer Technologies AiCO Lidding machines are still operating after 25 years of operation through in the meat industry.

Frozen Lidder

The Frozen Lidder is a specialised machine designed and manufactured by Mercer Technologies for meat processing plants to lid bulk frozen meat packaged in cartons. Ideal for applications requiring medium volumes of lidded cartons of bulk frozen meat and/or frozen primals and/or chilled primals.

The Machine operation is an automatic application of lid to carton, for one of the lowest cost packaging solutions. The machine will lid all cartons of a common base size. It uses a hot melt glue to attach a lid securely to a carton. The process is a series of fully automatic operations, the machine automatically positions, raises, lids, and lowers the lidded carton ready for dispatch.

Typically a 50mm lip is used on the lid. If two magazines are used, the correct lid is selected and glued to the tray.

Chilled Lidder

Options include automatic blank stack feeder attachment/ magazine for infeeding of new blanks.

Multiple magazines for lid selection is available. Lidder has small footprint.

Simple Lidder

For lidding cartons of bulk product

Ideal for applications requiring medium volumes of lidded cartons on demand.

Options include automatic blank stack feeder attachment for in-feeding of new blanks. Typically a 50mm lip is used on the lid. If two magazines are used, the correct lid is selected and glued to the tray.

Folded Top Closer

FOR CLOSING CARTONS WITH PRE FOLDED (GUSSETED) TOPS.

Ideal for applications requiring medium volumes of closed cartons on demand. Cartons can be of solid fibre or corrugated board. Carton top can have variable overlap.
